What makes a good festival film?

What makes a good short film for festivals?

7.30pm, Thursday 27th May 2010
Waterside 3, Watershed Media Centre, Bristol BS1 5TX

What makes a good short film that’s suitable for the festival circuit? What do I need to consider when submitting my film or even during the production?

This months event will begin with a talk from Encounters International Film Festival Creative Director discussing what he looks for in a short film and also giving a few hints and tips for any filmmakers in the audience.

This will be followed with a panel discussion with independent shorts Producer Alison Sterling and shorts Director Kasia Klimkiewicz who both have plenty of experience submitting films to festivals. They will also be able to discuss the benefit of attending festivals as their chance meeting at Encounters last year has led to them being successfully shortlisted for an ifeatures project this year.

Throughout the discussion there will also be screenings of films that have successfully played at film festivals around the world.

Cineformation is a forum for independent film & video makers offering an opportunity for writers, producers, directors, actors, crew & enthusiasts to meet, share ideas, screen films and foster an active vibrant creative frenzy of filmmaking in the South West.

If you are interested in being a guest speaker at a future event please send in a viewing copy of your film on along to:
