Bristol Music Foundation Seminar: – Investment; Financing Your Career

The Bristol Music Foundation is happy to present, in association with Arts
Matrix, a one-day seminar and intensive workshop providing specialist
knowledge on aspects of income from within the music industry, and
accessing income from outside the industry.

The day will begin with a seminar style presentation on the work of each
individual speaker, plus a general discussion between speakers on current
issues facing finance in the music industry.
Break-out groups will then focus on each specific area with the committed
aim of helping each attendee to assess and re-evaluate their own existing
career situation and attain clear skills and knowledge to progress careers
over the long-term.

Topics will include:
• Areas of income within the music industry; royalties, performance fees,
synchronization and branding
• Digital; income within the online market place
• Managing accounts; effective use of income to maintain, and sustain, a
long-term career
• Investment; specialist investment brokers and local and national venture
capitalists to focus on approaches to investment and developing effective
relationships with investors and financial mentors
• Collaboration; building local and national partnerships, sharing costs
and co-promotion
