BAFTA Preview: Don’t Worry About Me + Director’s Q&A
Wed 10 Feb 2030hrs

Dir: David Morrissey 1hr 20mins UK 2009

Having cut his directing teeth on shorts and two feature-length TV dramas (Passer By and Sweet Revenge,) BAFTA-nominated actor and director David Morrissey (Hilary and Jackie, TV’s ‘State of Play’) turns to his home town of Liverpool as the setting for his debut feature, based on the original stage play The Pool, written by Helen Elizabeth and James Brough, who also star in the film. After a one-night-stand gone wrong, David (Brough), every inch the Southern geezer, ends up stranded in Liverpool with only some loose change in his pocket. Placing a bet to try and win his fare home, he meets local lass Tina (Elizabeth), and his plans take a different turn. Once he’s talked her into skiving off work for the rest of the day, she leads him on a tour of the city, and sightseeing leads to sharing stories and, in fits and starts, a connection grows.

Followed by a Q&A session with actor and director David Morrissey. Presented in association with iFeatures, Cineformation, Watershed, Verve Pictures and BBC Films.

Tickets: £6.50 / £5.00 available from Watershed Box Office: 0117 9275100 or online at watershed.co.uk
